How to Play Mini Crossword
lightbulb The Basics
The Mini Crossword is a compact 5×5 grid with 10 interlocking clues — 5 Across and 5 Down. Every row is a word and every column is a word. Your goal is to fill all 25 cells using the clues provided.
Unlike a standard crossword, there are no black cells. Every letter is part of both an across and a down word, creating a tightly interlocked puzzle that's quick to solve but satisfying to complete.
touch_app How to Solve
Click a cell in the grid to select it. The entire across or down word highlights in blue. Click the same cell again to toggle between across and down.
Click a clue in the panel to jump to that word and start typing.
Type letters on your keyboard — the cursor advances automatically through the word. Use Backspace to delete and arrow keys to move.
Press Tab to jump to the next clue, or Space to toggle direction at the current cell.
tips_and_updates Tips & Strategies
- 1.Start with the clues you know. Fill in confident answers first — each letter you place constrains the crossing words.
- 2.Use cross-checking. If you know 3 out of 5 letters in a crossing word, the remaining two often become obvious.
- 3.Think about common letter patterns. Letters like E, S, T, R, and A appear frequently in 5-letter words.
- 4.Don't be afraid to erase. If a word doesn't lead anywhere, clear it and try a different answer.
